Britania launches Splash Kachupa PET bottles

The new bottled Splash range features six fruit flavors and two pack sizes as Britania expands production capacity to meet rising consumer demand.

UGANDA – Britania Allied Industries has launched a new plastic-packaged version of its flagship fruit drink, Splash Kachupa, and appointed media personality Daniel Katende as brand ambassador as the company targets growing demand for convenient, on-the-go beverage options in Uganda.

The launch introduces a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle format for the 25-year-old Splash brand, marking a significant expansion from its traditional carton packaging.

According to the company, the move responds to changing consumer preferences, with more Ugandans opting for portable and resealable beverage packaging.

The new Splash Kachupa range contains 13% fruit content and is available in six flavors: mango, apple, tamarind, orange, berries, and grapes and berries.

To appeal to a broad consumer base, Britania has introduced two pack sizes, including a 400ml bottle retailing at UGX 2,000 and a 250ml bottle priced at UGX 1,200.

Victor Atwijuka, General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Britania Allied Industries, said consumer habits are rapidly evolving in favor of bottled beverages.

“While traditional carton formats remain relevant, we designed the bottled line to provide a more affordable and convenient alternative to carbonated soft drinks,” Atwijuka said.

The nationwide rollout is being supported by the marketing campaign tagline “Flavor Mu Kachupa.” To ensure sufficient supply and maintain product quality, Britania has upgraded its manufacturing facility and increased production capacity.

Daniel Katende, popularly known as Kasuku, will lead the national promotional campaign for the new product line. The company believes his strong connection with Ugandan audiences will help strengthen the brand’s visibility across the country.

Ali Yousef Ebraik, Chief Executive Officer of Britania Allied Industries, said Katende was selected because of his close ties to local communities and his influence within Uganda’s media landscape.

Britania said it has invested significantly in upgrading production facilities to meet anticipated demand while maintaining quality standards. The company has operated in Uganda’s food and beverage sector for more than 30 years and markets several brands, including Splash, Yojus, SunSip, and TopUp.
